API Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions for using this API follows the general Maersk API License Terms. Please also see our short Onboarding Guide.

Misuse of the API (what is not allowed)

1) SCRAPPING ACTIVITY – collecting the data with the high frequency requests for the same high number of ports. This is against the commercial product principles.

2) CACHING – storing the collected data for a period to show to the end users. This is against the product principles as the price is dynamic and keeping it cached may result in wrong commercial decisions.

3) MARKET PLACES – NOT ALLOWED. Market place is the solution with an option amongst others to provide you with a visibility of the Spot offers without entering credentials. This is a commercial data protection requirement.

4) RATE LOOKUP API – the API connection we provide is Offers API which means that you can send a request for a number of boxes you need under the selected corridor. We will do all the required checks and make an offer for precisely your lot. While you place requests for 1box and a corridor just to collect the rate info you increase the load to the systems both at your and ours, and increase the waiting time as we are executing the checks.

5) HIGH LOAD – by building a rate lookup tool instead of requesting offers tool, you increase the load to your and our system. You advise the load and in case it changes you need to inform us, otherwise you will be blocked or throttling will be applied (no response).

THE CONSEQUENCE OF AN API MISUSE IS AN API KEY FREEZE – without an API key you cannot send the requests to us via the API connection.
