Terminology
This section provides clear definitions and explanations of important concepts within Spot Offer API.
Rollable
Rollable is a spot offer option designed for shipments that are not time sensitive. Shipments marked as rollable allow Maersk to move the shipment to another ship with a compensation for the customer.
In the context of Spot offer API it may refer to the following:
-
The rollable offer option given via the API call.
-
A certain limitation of the API, where if a ship is fully booked, the rollable option will not be returned in the API call, even though there might still be rollable booking options available.
-
The
rollableOptionEnabled
flag, which is currently deprecated, since we will always return rollable options if they are available.
Cargo
Cargo refers to the cargo container types available on Spot Offer API. Another name for reference includes inventory.
Availability in Spot Offer API:
-
Included: Dry-cargo for 20’GP, 40’GP, 40’ HDRY and 45’HDRY containers are supported by Maersk Spot.
-
Excluded: Refrigerated (Reefer), Open Top, Flat Rack, Platform, Transportable Tanks amongst others.
Booking API
The Booking API is the next step to the integration with Maersk, where you close and book the offer that you got via our Offer API. We often recommend to book as quickly as possible following the Spot Offer API call to prevent booking API from rejecting an old offer.
